What if my badge is removed?
If WebsitePulse.io cannot detect the badge on your site, we will warn you by email before pausing your monitor. You have 14 days to add it back.
What happens when the badge goes missing
We do not pause your monitor the first time we fail to find the badge. Instead, we follow a graduated timeline to give you time to notice and fix it:
- Immediately: We send you an email to let you know the badge is no longer detected. Monitoring continues as normal.
- After 24 hours: If the badge is still missing, we send a reminder.
- After 7 days: A final warning email.
- After 14 days: The monitor is paused and you receive a confirmation email.
Common reasons the badge might not be found
- The badge code was accidentally removed during a site update
- Your theme or page builder was changed and the footer was reset
- The badge is in your desktop footer but not your mobile footer
- A caching plugin is serving a cached page without the badge
How to reactivate your monitor
Add the badge back to your site's footer. WebsitePulse.io detects it automatically on the next monitoring cycle and unpauses your monitor — no action needed in the dashboard.
If your monitor has already been paused, you can also click Retry on your overview page to trigger an immediate check.
Upgrading to Pro removes the badge requirement entirely. Your monitors will never be paused for this reason on the Pro plan.
